Erskine Caldwell and William Goldhurst manuscript collection, 1971-1985.

The collection consists of clippings, photos, announcements, manuscripts, correspondence, taped addresses, travel itineraries and other printed materials related to Erskine Caldwell. The materials were previously in the possession of William Goldhurst, and all of the correspondence is between Caldwell and Goldhurst. The correspondence covers a period of 14 years and contains information about the careers of both Caldwell and Goldhurst, especially Caldwell's speaking engagements and Goldhurst's publication efforts. Many of the clippings and other printed materials have personal messages from Caldwell to Goldhurst, and there are many instances of Caldwell's signature. Some of the items are photocopies.
